Preparing for flashing§

  1. Download and unpack the firmware archive The “Download” button is in the panel under the device name.
  2. Connect the router to the computer with a cable (Ethernet) Flashing over Wi-Fi is not possible.

Installing from stock firmware§

First install the Breed bootloader (steps below), then choose one of the two flashing methods — Method #1 (via KeenBOOT, recommended) or Method #2 (via Breed and Telnet).

Installing the Breed bootloader§

  1. Installing OpenWrt Install FACTORY_N6_OpenWRT.bin from the Установка Breed (Breed installation) folder over the factory firmware with a regular update. If OpenWrt was already installed, reset its settings.

Installing OpenWrt through the web interface

    Warning

If Recovery opens after the installation, install 2_FACTORY_N6_OpenWRT.bin from it.

  2. Running the script After OpenWrt starts, run !Start.bat on Windows 10/11. The script saves an EEPROM backup to the Keenetic folder, installs the bootloader and reboots the device into Breed.

  3. Backup Enter the Breed bootloader at 192.168.1.1 and save a Full dump in case you want to revert the firmware.

MethodINew, recommended§

  2. Upload Firmware, EEPROM and U-Config from the archive one by one through the web interface, following the instructions.
  3. Reboot the device.

    Tip

To minimize installation problems, it is recommended to set the IP address 192.168.1.2 on the network card.

Static IP on the network card

  2. Flashing over Telnet Start PuTTY, connect over Telnet to 192.168.1.1 on port 23 and paste the commands with the right mouse button, waiting for the previous one to finish.

    Warning

    • Turn off your OS firewall and antivirus beforehand.
    • The messages skipped bad blocks and Flash erasure failed with -5 after entering the commands are normal.

    Caution

    • Each line is a separate command. If it fails, run it again.
    • Compare the IP in the wget commands below with the IP shown in HFS. In the Breed bootloader it always starts with 192.168.1.xxx.
Enter one command at a time
  1. flash erase 0x80000 0x7f00000
