Installing from stock firmware§

Installing the Breed bootloader§

  1. Installing OpenWrt Install OpenWrt for your device as described on the official website.
  2. Saving the calibration Save EEPROM/factory/mtd2 from your device.
  3. Installing the package Give the router internet access and install the kmod-mtd-rw package.
  4. Writing the bootloader Open a console and connect to the router over SSH. Serve breed.bin with HFS and run the commands:
Enter one command at a time
  1. cd /tmp
  2. wget http://192.168.1.2/breed.bin
  3. insmod mtd-rw i_want_a_brick=1
  4. mtd unlock /dev/mtd0
  5. mtd write /tmp/breed.bin boot

    Full backup in Breed

Flashing through Breed§

  1. Serving the files Start HFS and put all files from the archive into it, along with your calibration (EEPROM/factory/mtd2). The correct MAC addresses must be written into the calibration beforehand with the EEPROM tools.

    Firmware files in HFS

  2. Flashing over Telnet Start PuTTY, connect over Telnet to 192.168.1.1 on port 23 and paste the commands with the right mouse button, waiting for the previous one to finish.

    Warning

    • Turn off your OS firewall and antivirus beforehand.
    • The messages skipped bad blocks and Flash erasure failed with -5 after entering the commands are normal.

    Caution

    • Each line is a separate command. If it fails, run it again.
    • Compare the IP in the wget commands below with the IP shown in HFS. In the Breed bootloader it always starts with 192.168.1.xxx.
